Hey! I was wondering if you would have any tips or tutorials for us big-breasted girls to bind/crossplay effectively? I'm a 36E, so I know I'm not getting completely flat, but do you know any way to get somewhat flat? /anon'd because of breast size Anonymous
Do you have any tutorials/hints on modifying a sword base for costume prop? For instance, I bought a crap sword from Walmart to use as a base, but the hilt needs to be a completely different shape from what it is, aside from some other, less important modification I think I can handle. Anonymous

Paperclay is a wonderful material to work with for things like that since it can be sanded, dries hard, and is lightweight!

Hey! I'm a girl and I'm planning a crossplay. Know any good methods for replicating stubble? Anonymous

hey! this is the BEST tutorial i have.
i love her tutorials so much.
you just do not add the hair that she talks about later.

there you go.

check out her other tutorials, they’re pretty fantastic.

Awesome blog, totes. Plan on doing her Imperial Condensce from Homestuck. I saw on the homestuckcosplayhelp blog a tutorial for the hair, and all that hair added up to be around $90. Around how much would the entire thing be for having Ben Nye, Zentai suit, the hair cost, arm bands, trident, etc? Anonymous

Ben Nye is about $4 per small case. I’ve been able to keep one thing of Ben Nye for doing Karkat and Eridan, you have to use the make up sparingly, but know how to apply it well. So probably $4-$8 for Ben Nye. Zentai suits can cost anywhere from $30-$70 depending on where you buy them, so I suggest you look around and find one you like. Hair, i’m not sure, there are fefsestor hair tutorials, and they cost about $70 or so? I’m not sure if you oculd cut corners and get it for cheaper though. The arm bands and the trident could be made by you or you could have them commisioned. So i’d say around $160+?

i'm getting an all-cotton letterman jacket for my cosplay. it's red with white sleeves and white details. i want to make all the white parts teal, but i'm not sure if i should dye or paint it. which one do you think is a better idea? and if i was to dye it, how would i do it without ruining the red parts? Anonymous

dyeing is definatly the better option!

also!
http://cosplaytutorial.com/list.php#dye

go there to find which dye would be best suited for your project and tips and tricks!

With regards to ihateyourgoodfeelings' question- they said the gloves were faux leather, and so dye probably wouldn't take too well. I would suggest cutting the gloves apart and using them as a pattern with material that is already in the correct color. taco-hime
I'm going to buy a pair of faux leather, finger less gloves, but it's the wrong colour, and I was wondering if there's a specific way to paint them to the colour I want without the paint or whatever chipping. incestuous-lesbianponies

I’d actually use dye instead of paint! You can find it at any craft store near the fabric paint, sometimes places like walmart carry it too.

To the anon who asked about binding-- I am just about that flat and slim, and will wear a boys' tank top (wife-beater?) that is a couple sizes too small and that will evenly compress my chest, even give it that natural 'muscle' look. With cross-plays that have layers, I really don't need to do any chest maintenance at all; people really think I'm binding! Anonymous
In Tiger & Bunny are Barnaby's glasses tinted a little bit or are they regular glasses? oakeydoakeyloki

i feel like thier tinted a SUPER light grey, or not tinted at all. you cant really tell with different artisits shading and such.

you should look at different completed cosplays to see if their glasses are tinted or not.

i say no, but thats just me C:

alright this us pretty embarrassing, but my bra size is a 32 AA. double A is smaller than A orzzz;;; but my question is: do i REAAAAALLY need to bind? Anonymous

It’s all a matter of your own preference. If the cosplay you’re wearing is baggy and you feel that you look flat enough in it, by all means, don’t waste your money on a binder! Perhaps get a couple second opinions from friends so that you can decide for sure.
